因传统纸媒行业衰落，曾经的王牌记者韩书源与刚刚入职报社的小舅子马超正为报社倒闭而发愁，却意外得到“全星娱乐公司”老板刘磊的邀请，两人勇闯横店影视城创业，不料却成为刘磊手下专门跟拍明星绯闻的底层娱乐记者。他们接到的第一个任务便是去跟拍当红小生王亮与女星徐鸽间的绯闻，两人便在影视城开启了卧底生涯，他们做过歌厅服务员，藏过行李箱，躲过垃圾桶。经历艰险终于拍到了明星绯闻的有力证据，却突遭武行阿虎一行的围追堵截，巧遇蒙面女侠的仗义相助，正当他们任务成功得意之际，殊不知他俩正逐渐陷入幕后老板黄海的阴谋之中，在金钱与道德之间，两个曾经的弱书生将如何选择，如何摆脱危机，揭露真相，完成自我救赎与逆袭成长。
