家喻户晓的神话人物孙悟空将会在这一部动画系列剧中化身为“齐小天”，一个着迷于《西游记》古老传说的少年，他梦想着能成为和孙悟空一样伟大的神话英雄。一个偶然的机会，他在山顶发现了金箍棒——很久以前，为了将牛魔王永久封禁在山中，孙悟空曾把它插在山顶作为封印。由于金箍棒被拔出而封印解除，牛魔王得以重返人间作恶，而齐小天必须踏上一段充满艰难险阻的征程，在与恶魔的战斗中重新塑造自我，成为新一代神话英雄。
